Remember coloring? That’s color planning. What color goes where? There’s no DMC chart and no written instructions for most patterns. Where do you begin? Don’t be held prisoner by indecision or give in to copying. No one else can hook your version of the rug.

In the next few lessons, I will teach you some methods that will guide you through the color planning process. Creativity for me is often triggered by doing “work,” a systematic method or procedure that gets me in the zone.

Remember to have fun, give up control, turn the internal editor off, and hook naked – as in the naked truth, without judgement. {grin} Decide today to stop worrying about what other people think. There is no right or wrong way to do this and the people who think there are real rules are missing out. Relax. Now let’s have fun!

Just as in rug hooking, there is no right or wrong way to absorb these lessons. Print out each lesson’s PDF before you watch the video or print it after. They will be in the Lesson Bonus section at the end of each lesson. Watch the lessons in order or jump around. Each lesson has a Complete button.
