…but I don’t know how to use Zoom

No problem. I offer a way for you to try it twice a week, every week. On Wednesday, the hook-in is hosted by Kim Hirt and then I host the hook-in on Saturday. Once you have Zoom installed (go to the bottom of this page for instructions) all you have to do is show up and click the link for the Zoom room. The hook-ins are free to all rug hookers, not just students from Sauder. Feel free to invite your local rug hooking friends. We’ve been meeting online like this since March 2020.

Zoom is a free app.

Every event, Wednesday, Saturday and our Sauder Meeting have a different link. The link for the hook-ins can be found on my home page. This message changes four times a week and always shows the next upcoming event. For instance…..

…but I don’t know how to use Notion

No problem, again. I don’t expect you to know how to use it. I’ll explain how to use it in our first meeting and then I will answer individual questions about Notion at any of the Zoom meetings.

The Notion free option is all you need.

You will get an email about a shared link from Notion in the next day or so. You can attempt to access it now or wait until we meet if you need more guidance.

…but I don’t want to learn anything new

You can skip the Sauder Meetings and communicate via phone and snail mail (I prefer phone), and then show up at Sauder just as you would at any workshop and make friends once you get there. You will miss out on the opportunity to walk into a room of people that you already know.

The tech is not hard. You just have to be willing to try. I can walk you through it on the phone if you need further assistance. The ability to make contact with real people is so important right now.
